Adrienne is a Nurse Practitioner in Hematology Oncology and Stem Cell Transplant at London Health Sciences Centre. Adrienne began working toward her APN designation as part of her passion for continued learning. The designation allowed her to enhance her knowledge to better support making a difference in the lives of patients diagnosed with hematologic cancers, particularly related to psychosocial oncology and patient decision making.
The de Souza APN designation research project allowed her to explore patient decision making among older adults with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. She is using this knowledge to work with the hematology oncology team to promote critical conversations with malignant hematology patients facing challenging health-related decisions.
