Jan Giroux is the Nurse Practitioner working in Gynecology Oncology at Kingston General Hospital (KGH) and the Cancer Centre for Southeastern Ontario.  Jan has been practicing nursing at KGH for over 35 years in various patient care roles and disease settings.  She is a lifelong learner earning Diplomas in Nursing and Critical Care Nursing from St. Lawrence College in Kingston, her BScN and MScN from the University of Ottawa; her Oncology RN Certificate from Loyalist College and her Post-Masters Nurse Practitioner Diploma from the University of Toronto.   Jan has dual Canadian Nursing Association certifications in Cardiovascular and Oncology Nursing.  She completed her de Souza APN designation May 2017.

Jan is a passionate advocate for women’s reproductive cancers.  She is the 2009 recipient of the CANO/ACIO Ovarian Cancer Canada Nursing Award for Excellence in Gynecology Oncology Nursing and in addition to this, she has been nominated twice in the past for the CANO Oncology Nurse of the Year.  Jan’s de Souza APN Fellowships and educational pursuits focused on Oncology Sexual Health and NP-Led Clinics.
