Sarah Robbins

de Souza Nurse Associate

RN, Bachelor of Nursing - Oncology and Palliative Care - Unity Health Toronto, St. Joseph's Health Centre

Sarah graduated from the Humber College-University of New Brunswick Collaborative Bachelor of Nursing program in April 2020 with her Bachelor of Nursing degree. Sarah continues to pursue nursing excellence and best practice and is currently pursuing CNA certification in Hospice Palliative Care (CHPCN(C)). Sarah has intentions of becoming a full de Souza Nurse designate in the future with plans of also pursuing a Masters degree.

Sarah currently works full time at St. Joseph’s Health Centre on the Palliative Care Unit which opened in June 2023. Sarah also divides her time as a Casual Registered Nurse at Dorothy Ley Hospice, and fosters kittens in her spare time through the Annex Cat Rescue. Her passion for palliative nursing started early in her nursing school studies with the passing of her father. As a nursing student with lived experience of end of life care, grief, and bereavement, Sarah recognized the importance of quality palliative care for patients and families, and started to focus her efforts and studies on taking additional courses in oncology and palliative care through the de Souza institute to enhance her ability to care for patients with life limiting illnesses. Sarah obtained her de Souza Nurse Associate designation in February of 2024.
